iPhones have been the latest craze among techie men and women these past few years. They are great devices, and costly, but they are also susceptible to freezing problems. Whenever this happens, there are various suggestions on how to solve the problem yourself. Read this article for a few ways to solve frozen iPhone problems.
Restart your iPhone
One of the simplest and most basic iphone help suggestions to rescue your gadget from its frozen state is to restart it. Simply locate the “sleep” button, which can be found on the top part of the gadget, and then press and hold it. After a few seconds of holding the button, you will see a slider on the screen that says “slide to power off.” All you have to do is slide your finger on this slider, and the phone should turn off. Wait for about five seconds and then press the “sleep” button again for a few seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen. Your gadget should be able to restart or turn on again after pressing and holding the “sleep” button.
Reset your iPhone
After attempting to restart your iPhone and finding that this has not awakened your gadget from its frozen state, you may then choose to reset it. To reset your device, press and hold the “sleep” button along with the “home” button. This should cause the apple logo to appear on the screen and reset the gadget in a few seconds.
Restore factory setting
You may also have your iPhone restored to its original factory setting to solve freezing problems. However, this method will erase all records you have created on your gadget, including music, pictures, apps, text messages, and contact lists. You can create a back-up file of this information so that you can still recover it later. Just go to the iTunes website, connect your iPhone to the computer, and then select “Summary” tab from the Devices list. Then you will see the tab “Restore,” which you should also click. Before you can proceed with having your gadget restored to factory settings, you will be asked if you want to have your data and settings backed-up. After having done this, you will again be asked to confirm regarding having your factory settings restored. Just click on the “restore” button again and leave your gadget attached to the computer until the entire process is complete and you no longer see the phrase “Connect to iTunes” on the screen of your device.
Bring your iPhone to an Apple service center
If your attempts to solve the freezing problem on your iPhone have been unsuccessful, you will need to take it to an Apple service center and have their professionals try to fix the problem. Before you take it to the service center, though, you have to disable your service first. If your gadget is a CDMA model, log in to the website of your mobile phone service provider and follow their instructions for disabling the service to your iPhone. For those that are GSM models, all you need to do is take the SIM card out of the gadget. You may also refer to the specific instructions on removing SIM cards in the instruction manual that came with your device.
It is important that you read the instruction and warranty manual of your iPhone on troubleshooting so as not to void any existing warranty. Knowledge of your device’s warranty is very important.
